Terex EvoQuip’s newest releases: the Bison 340 Jaw & Caiman Compact ShredderSponsored
Terex® EvoQuip is legendary for its "Compact with Impact" equipment – urban-friendly footprints paired with consistently outstanding performance that always packs a punch, and distributor Mobile Screening & Crushing (MSC) is excited to bring to the New Zealand market two new EvoQuip products; the Bison 340 Jaw Crusher and the Caiman 150 Compact Shredder.
EvoQuip announces the release of its biggest Bison jaw crusher: the Bison 340
EvoQuip recently launched the newest addition to its Bison jaw crusher range. The 34 ton Bison 340 will be the largest in the range of jaw crushers, with a 1000mmx600mm jaw chamber opening, and will boast an impressive output potential of 280tph (308 US tph) depending on application.
The EvoQuip Bison 340 is a high-performance primary jaw crusher that is designed for operators in quarrying, demolition, recycling and mining applications. It features track mobility for a quick setup time and hydraulic crusher setting adjustments for total control of product size. The hydrostatic drive, which is included as standard, allows the crusher to be run in reverse. This is particularly useful for removing blockages from the chamber or when crushing in a sticky application like asphalt.
Andrew Armstrong, EvoQuip product manager, says that “the Bison 340 jaw crusher is a big addition to EvoQuip’s Bison range, which can cater to operations of all different sizes and needs. It has a heavy-duty, wear-resistant feed hopper. The aggressive crushing action is accompanied by a high swing jaw. This encourages material entry into the crushing chamber. Pair that with the hydrostatic ability to run the crusher in reverse, and this results in high production and minimal downtime with the Bison 340.”
“As with the entire EvoQuip range the Bison 340 is compact and easily transported from site to site. The Bison 340 is at home in hard rock quarry applications, as well as recycling applications, and an efficient drive system and low engine RPM allows for the Bison 340 to be run with low fuel consumption.”
All Bison jaw crushers come with the T-Link telemetry system fitted as standard, providing customers with real-time information on the performance of their machine, meaning effective machine management and maximising uptime. This data can be accessed through a tablet or smartphone and provides comprehensive information on the location, fuel consumption, tonnages, wear ratings and operating hours along with much more.

Unveiling the EvoQuip Caiman 150: the ultimate compact shredder Solution
There’s a new shredder coming to town and true to the “Compact with Impact” that Terex® EvoQuip is known for, this compact shredder packs a powerful punch!
Following the official launch of the EvoQuip Caiman 150 shredder in mid-August, Andy Meikle, director at Mobile Screening and Crushing NZ Ltd (MSC), is very pleased to confirm the impending arrival of a Caiman 150 compact shredder early in the new year. “We are really looking forward to introducing an EvoQuip compact shredder to the NZ market. We have seen so many opportunities in the past few years where a compact shredder would be the perfect solution for a job, so we’re very excited to now be able to offer this option to our customers with the EvoQuip Caiman 150”.
As a Terex® designed and built machine, the Caiman 150 comes with the engineering and manufacturing excellence needed to excel in the most demanding of recycling applications.
The Caiman 150 Shredder provides high output with low operational costs and can be used in multiple applications such as C&D, concrete, asphalt, kerb stones, bricks, green waste, wood waste, tyres and general household waste.
Twin slow speed high torque shafts
One of the fantastic features of the Caiman 150 shredder are the slow speed shafts, which produce up to 80,000Nm of torque per shaft, allowing the shredder to work with the most demanding of materials. This, along with the ability to quickly change shafts, allows the end user to swiftly change from working in one application to another.
Compact and robust
The Caiman 150 has a compact and robust design, which allows it to be used in the smallest of spaces whilst maintaining an aggressive and powerful shredding system. With an intuitive control system, the Caiman 150 is user friendly, and its compact transport envelope allows it to be moved easily between sites. The hydrostatic drive offers high efficiency and protection against contamination and the 1.5m long shafts offer impressive throughput and excellent reduction.
Other standout features of the Terex EvoQuip Caiman 150 compact shredder include:
- Versatile design for multiple applications; enables work in multiple applications with only a shaft change needed to go from C&D to other waste types
- Default and customisable shredding programs; default shredding programs set for most common applications, and numerous customisable shredding settings enable the operator to program the shredder to the most optimal setup for their specific application
- Quick removal of shafts/combs; shafts can be changed in an hour which allows the end user to go from working in C&D to mattresses for example with one plant very quickly
- Asynchronous shredding action; allowing each shaft to operate independently to maximise production
- More wear plates in hopper than competitors to ensure less hardfacing
- Compact but mighty; 2.5m3 hopper capacity, 800mm wide product conveyor w/ 3.3m discharge height. 16.5T w/ transport dims of 8.4m x 2.5m x 3.05m
MSC are certain the EvoQuip Caiman 150 will be a game-changer for many in the recycling and C&D business, delivering outstanding performance and reliability at an extremely competitive price. Stay tuned, it’s an arrival you don’t want to miss!
