Open Day at Behans Quarry unveils latest Terex EvoQuip equipment

Dan Meikle, GM of Mobile Screening and Crushing (MSC), was in the UK recently to attend the Terex EvoQuip Open Day held at Behans Quarry in Dublin, Ireland. The Open Day was an opportunity for attendees to view an impressive lineup of working screening, crushing and conveying equipment, speak to EvoQuip staff and inspect three brand-new EvoQuip releases up close. After witnessing these machines in action within a working quarry environment, Meikle was profoundly impressed by their capabilities. He explains some of their most innovative and impressive features that are set to significantly enhance customer operations.

Caiman 150 Compact Crusher/Shredder

A genuine all-rounder, the compact and robust Caiman 150 Shredder excels in multiple applications such as C&D, concrete, asphalt, kerb stones, bricks, green waste, wood waste, tyres and general household waste.

Standout features include:

• Quick removal of shafts/combs; shafts can be changed in an hour which allows the end user to very quickly and efficiently completely change applications, for example going from processing concrete to mattresses
• Default and customisable shredding programs; default shredding programs set for most common applications, and numerous customisable shredding settings enable the operator to programme the shredder to the most optimal setup for their specific application
• Asynchronous shredding action, allowing each shaft to operate independently to maximise production
• Twin slow speed high torque shafts producing up to 80,000Nm of torque per shaft, allowing the shredder to work with the most demanding of materials. This, along with the ability to quickly change shafts, allows the end user to swiftly change from working in one application to another
• Aggressive and powerful shredding system with 1.5m long shafts offering impressive throughput and excellent reduction
• Compact transport envelope allows it to be moved easily between sites

Falcon 820 Finishing Screen

The Falcon 820 is a compact finishing screen with an 8x4 screenbox. Its rugged design enables it to handle the toughest of applications. Combining scalping, screening, and stockpiling in one self-contained unit, the Falcon 820’s double-deck two bearing screen box can operate in multiple applications such as sand and gravel, crushed stone, coal, topsoil and demolition waste.

Bison 220R Jaw Crusher

The EvoQuip Bison 220R is a compact 25T (50,000 lbs) jaw crusher capable of working in hard rock and recycling applications with optional R section. The Bison 220 platform was developed from the EvoQuip Cobra 230R Impactor base, with the impactor chamber removed and a jaw chamber put in its place. The R section has the same features and benefits as the Cobra. The recirc belt is able to recirculate oversize product back through the chamber for an all-in product, or the option of side stacking to make two different size products.
