Inside your cone crusher

The basic principle is straightforward: the material to be crushed (the feed) drops into the crushing chamber. The mantle is a moving part that gyrates in an eccentric motion. That is, it doesn’t remain completely centred – it swings slightly as it rotates, continually altering the gap between the mantle and the concave (the ring outside the mantle that stays fixed in place.) As the mantle moves, it crushes the material against the concave at the points where the gap is smallest (the stones in the feed are also compressed against each other – that’s known as interparticle crushing).

The Moxy Articulated Dump Truck (ADT) offers a larger load capacity in all weight categories. Additional load capacity, combined with superior power and traction, improve productivity. The unique advantages of the Moxy ADT’s permanent 6-wheel drive, free-swinging rear tandem, front-mounted turning ring, independent front wheel suspension, and sloping rear frame provide excellent driving stability with equal weight distribution and superior traction.

The new Nordtrack™ I1011S mobile impact crusher, from Metso Outotec, combines high crushing capacities to end-product accuracy utilising an optional large hanging screen.

Scalping Screens

The Sandvik Mobile Scalping Screen range comprises the QE141, QE241, QE342, and QE442 models. Scalping screens are predominantly used in the production of oversized product. By design, these models have a smaller hopper and are loaded directly via an excavator. The main wide conveyor carries the oversized product, with smaller auxiliary conveyors expelling fines and mid-sized product from the sides. Scalping screens tend to have a smaller footprint and are well suited to confined jobsites. Scalping screens are often used in recycling and organic material processing applications.

What is your career background?

I have been working in a sales and marketing role in the heavy equipment market for the past 14 years. Early in my career, I worked as a business development manager for a bank doing commercial finance on capital equipment before joining Bell Equipment South Africa in 2008.
